چکیده

We reduce solution of the Dirichlet problem ( x ∈ D ⊂ u ( stretchy="false">) + a = f in , width="2em" 0 on mathvariant="normal">∂<!-- ∂ to iterative a simpler width="thickmathspace" width="thinmathspace" for which one can use either Fourier series or Green's function method. The method is suitable numerical computations, particularly when uses Newton's semilinear problems g .

Iterative Methods for Nonlinear Elliptic Equations

‖f(u)− f(v)‖−1 ≤ L‖u− v‖−1. We drop the dependence of f on x to emphasis the nonlinearity in u. Let Vh ⊂ H 0 (Ω) be the linear finite element space associated to a quasi-uniform mesh Th. The nonlinear Garlerkin method is: find uh ∈ Vh such that (2) Auh = f(uh) in Vh, where A : H 0 (Ω)→ H−1(Ω) is the elliptic operator defined by −∆. We shall assume the existence and locally uniqueness of the sol...

Finite Element Appoximation and Iterative Solution of a Class of Mildly Non - Linear Elliptic Equations

We describe in this report the numerical analysis of a particular class of nonlinear Dirichlet problems. We consider an equivalent variational inequality formulation on which the problems of existence, uniqueness and approximation are easier to discuss. We prove in particular the convergence of an approximation by piecewise linear finite elements. Finally, we describe and compare several iterat...

Iterative solution of two matrix equations

We study iterative methods for finding the maximal Hermitian positive definite solutions of the matrix equations X + A∗X−1A = Q and X − A∗X−1A = Q, where Q is Hermitian positive definite. General convergence results are given for the basic fixed point iteration for both equations. Newton’s method and inversion free variants of the basic fixed point iteration are discussed in some detail for the...

Elliptic solution for modified tetrahedron equations

As is known, tetrahedron equations lead to the commuting family of transfer-matrices and provide the integrability of corresponding three-dimensional lattice models. We present the modified version of these equations which give the commuting family of more complicated two-layer transfer-matrices. In the static limit we have succeeded in constructing the solution of these equations in terms of e...
